::Rules::
General:
- By and large the Stargate franchise is rated PG-13, and so are we. We ask that you would not use any language or themes on this site, either in-character or out-of-character, that you wouldn’t find in other parts of the Stargate universe. Violation of this rule is also a violation of the Proboard’s TOS, which can have serious consequences.
- Try to post regularly (i.e. 2-3 days between posts); if you’re unable to please post a leave of absence notice in the relevant thread. Repeated disappearances from the site without an LOA notice may incur repercussions.
Posts:
- Keep posts to a reasonable length (200+ words); shorter posts do little to move the story along or develop your character.
- Use bold text and quotation marks “...” to indicate when your character is talking and italics to indicate when they’re thinking to themselves. Please spell check your posts – either with the built in spell checker or third party software, and avoid posting is SMS/online speak. Avoid large blocks of speech in your threads and focus more on your character, their actions, their thoughts and the events around them. Wordy posts are hard to read and reply to.
- Please try and keep out-of-character (OOC) comments in role-playing threads to a minimum, we have special areas for that, such as the OOC board or the private messaging system.
Respect:
- Treat others as you'd like to be treated - cliché but true. Don't bring RL issues/ arguments/grudges into the role-play. The first character application codeword is ####. Please do not hesitate to contact a staff member if you have problems with another player.
- Respect the administrators, moderators and other staff members. None of us get paid to be here. If drama builds up and no one is having fun, the site will do. Period.
- Avoid god-modding or controlling the actions of other players character though your own posts. Focus on your own characters actions and leave posts open so others aren’t forced to response in a certain way. Joint posts between characters are welcomed and encouraged.
Punishment:
- The first time a rule is broken, you will receive a written warning via PM from one of the Staff. With a second offense, your warning rating will go up. If it gets to a point where your warning rating reached 100%, you will be asked to leave the site. Good behaviour over time will result in your warning rating being decreased. Be warned – the Admins will not hesitate to zat you. Twice!
